Gryphon Technologies has an immediate opportunity as a CNC Machinist to support our LLNL program in Livermore, CA. Our team works in a laboratory setting manufacturing small, precision components & assemblies that are used for scientific research at various national labs and universities. As a CNC Machinist, you would be tasked with machining metal, plastic, crystalline, & low-density foam materials into mm scale components & assemblies. The designs change frequently & process development is often required. CNC Machinist job duties will include but are not limited to:
Component designing, machine programming, fabrication, assembly, & precision metrology of manufactured components. Interpreting engineering drawings with an understanding of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing. Manufacturing of tooling & fixtures for use in manufacture of parts. Machining parts using conventional machine tools. Learning to characterize parts using optical coordinate measuring machine, measuring microscope, laser confocal microscope, interferometer, etc. Handling, cleaning, assembling, & packaging completed parts. Communicating with engineers & customers. Maintaining & troubleshooting machines, as needed.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
High School (HS) Diploma or GED equivalent S. Citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance Three years machine shop experience to include knowledge & experience with CAD/CAM Software (SolidWorks, CamWorks, Mastercam and Fusion360) Experience with millimeter scale machined parts Ability to work independently to manufacture & characterize parts on time Strong time management skills Ability to lift 25 pounds & use tools for heavier weight Focused with an attention to detail Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills Excellent organizational skills Excellent communication skills (candidate must interface with customers & colleagues) with the ability to communicate effectively with management and co-workers about project status, & challenges
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Trade school degree, apprenticeship or college training Experience with CNC Single-Point Diamond Turning

One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one will be required. U.S. Citizenship required.
