Job Description
Cognosante is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its corporate Accounting function. The Senior Accountant must be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to effectively support Accounting Operations function for government contractor.
Reporting to Director of Accounting, the Senior Accountant must be a self-starter, detailed oriented and be a team player to support the Accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
Support fiscal close activities Process the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, inter-company, cost allocations, and other balance sheet and P&L accountsBalance sheet reconciliations (cash, PTO, capital leases, fixed assets etc)Monthly project financials review (close coordination with Project Finance group)Support annual external financial statement auditComplete annual incurred cost submissionMonitor indirect cost pools/ratesSupport generation of monthly financial report production and analysisAssistance with automation of processesSupport tax reporting requirementsConsistently follow designed business processes and related internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, integrity of corporate data, and safeguarding of assetsSupport internal operational and compliance programs
Required Qualifications
Bachelors and/or Master's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting emphasis preferredCPA or CPA candidate3-5 years progressive experience in Accounting rolesGovernment contracting experience requiredStrong understanding of GAAP and technical accountingKnowledge of CAS, FAR and experience with DCAA preferredWell versed with Costpoint/DeltekStrong knowledge of use of Concur preferredEffective team player in an high-performance accounting teams in a fast-paced organization
