Job Description

Cognosante is seeking a Manager of Accounting to support its corporate Accounting function. The Manager of Accounting must be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to effectively support Accounting Operations function for government contractor.

Reporting to VP/Controller of Accounting, the Manager of Accounting must be a self-starter, detailed oriented and be a team player to support the Accounting function.

Lead accounting operations, tax, and financial reportingMonth-end closeAccounts PayableEmployeeVendorsBilling & cash receiptTime AdministrationLead annual external financial statement auditLead timely/accurate completion of annual incurred cost submissionMonitor indirect cost pools/ratesManage generation of monthly financial report production and analysisAssistance with automation of processesManage tax calendar deliverable to ensure consistently timely/accurate filingsConsistently follow designed business processes and related internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, integrity of corporate data, and safeguarding of assetsSupport internal operational and compliance programsOversee all accounting activities ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and proceduresLead financial statement and/or contractual compliance auditsLead the integration of business unit needs and practices with the financial strategy for the corporationSupport Treasury function for the ControllerDirects the daily activities for GL, AP, AR, revenue, commissions, payroll, fixed assetsPrepare, review and issue financial statements in accordance with US GAAPReview contracts and ensure that revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP (ASC 606 implementation experience)Ensuring compliance with all Federal government contracting regulations including FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirementsImplement and maintain effective internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, integrity of corporate data, and safeguarding of assetsManage accounting policies and procedures and lead efforts to change initiatives and process improvementsLeverage automation and best practices to streamline daily operationsSupervise and develop a strong, performance-oriented accounting team, capable of actively and effectively engaging and growing with the businessManage local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsManage monthly financial reporting package for banking partnersManage and maintain accounting systems and proceduresSupport internal operational and compliance programsAssist in all potential acquisitions and divestitures including due diligence

Required Qualifications
Bachelors and/or Master's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting emphasis preferredCPA10 plus years progressive experience in Accounting rolesGovernment contracting experience requiredStrong understanding of GAAP and technical accountingKnowledge of CAS, FAR and experience with DCAA preferredWell versed with Costpoint/DeltekStrong knowledge of use of Concur preferredEffective team player in an high-performance accounting teams in a fast-paced organization
