Job Description

Experience includes management and direction on project engagements, working experience in project definition and business and systems analysis, review and provide recommendation/modification inputs to existing VHA training (crew resource management, Just Culture, clinical team training, etc.), creation of competitive strategies, and HRO transformation planning and implementation across a large integrated healthcare system. Candidate will work with the Senior Program Manager and other senior staff to monitor the status of the engagement, identify potential risks, issues, advises and consults on all significant developments, and designs a strategy for addressing them and monitoring quality.Candidateis proficient in reviewing strategic plans and business strategies and design, organizational and infrastructure designs, and project deliverables to maintain a standard of consistency and quality throughout a project's life cycle.This position is responsible and ensures overall project success and provides high reliability science expertise to the teams.

Key Responsibilities
Share accountability for delivering a high reliability and quality-driven workplace focused on the human experience to ensure clearly defined roles and accountabilities that are focused on exceeding expectations while paying attention to the detailsLeads the phases of change and transition while building a culture of high trust, high reliability and high performanceDevelop strategy and policy to support high reliability deployment and sustainmentFacilitate proactive patient safety activities to help create VHA facilities that are high reliability organizations, as reflected in reduced errors, elimination of unsafe processes, increased involvement of staff and physicians toward a culture of safety as well as reflective of SAIL and other metricsCompetent in statistical and data analysis; experience with data repositories, registries and /or warehousesExpertise in high reliability principles and conceptsLeads a team of internal coaching and training specialists who deliver high reliability training and coaching, policy deployment and implementationParticipate in regular analysis of facility quality and risk performance data, and plan steps based on data analysis for ongoing improvement using high reliability concepts and processesDemonstrates a leadership style that communicates High Reliability vision consistent with VHA mission and values and promotes a participatory approach to developing and achieving strategic and programmatic goalsCollaborates with all VHA leaders to provide linkage between operations and high reliability processes and practicesProvide leadership in developing and maintaining safe, high reliability Veteran safety practices through the creation, maintenance, and enhancements of systems, processes, information flows and feedback loopsLead the VHA in its learning about the science of human error and how to apply that knowledge to Just Culture and the high reliability journeyMaintain knowledge of contemporary high reliability literature and seeks ways to implement evidence-based/leading practices at VHAProactively recognizes opportunities for improvement and initiates effective strategies to promote changeEmploy performance improvement models (Six Sigma), principles, tools and techniques to achieve high reliability in clinical and business processes and outcomesMentor to senior VHA leaders on all tenants of high reliability

Functional Responsibilities: Experience includes engagement experience in project scope and approach, ability to focus on project delivery and business and technical integration, oversight of key business and process enablers, provide strategic direction, vision, and leadership.Candidate willwork with the Project Director and other senior staff to drive business strategy and planning changes at the executive levels.Candidateis proficient in managing the project team and daily operations of project development, project delivery and oversight of key business enablers on projects to achieve the project objectives and goals. This position is responsible for communications with project stakeholders, project and management of multiple projects across a Health Care Delivery system.

Required Qualifications
A minimum of ten (10) years of large integrated health care system consulting experience. Four (4) years of this experience shall be directly related to HRO implementation in a healthcare setting

Additional Minimum Qualifications
A Master's Degree from an accredited institution
