Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a "Database Engineer" to join our team in McLean, VA.
Harmonia is currently seeking an experienced Database Engineer to fill position within an existing team. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to analysis, design, development testing, data staging, and roll out activities. This position will be responsible for delivering a high-quality application that has to meet minimum level of performance with strong emphasis on secured transport of information.
Duties & Responsibilities:
At a high level the Database Engineer will be responsible for the logical design and physical implementation of the data services layers for various projects and products. At the micro level, duties will include:Hands on SQL query writing and PL/SQL development including performance tuningData model definitionPlaying a key role in designing, developing, and implementing the database objects and reporting or various productsResponsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of project databases
Requirements
BS in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related technical field5+ years direct experience designing, developing, and documenting database applicationsCurrent Oracle PL/SQL experience / SQL Server experienceThorough understanding of relational database conceptsSQL statement tuningData modeling/database design experienceData warehousing (experience with business intelligence and/or ETL tools a plus)Thorough attention to detail and high quality of code requiredAbility to work independently and as a member of a teamMust be able to work with little direct supervisionPossess the drive to deliver quality products in a timely manner
