Job Description:
SUMMARY
The Senior Analytic Tradecraft Advisor develops and promotes a culture of analytic tradecraft excellence, improves the analytic tradecraft skills of the client’s analysts in general, and provides training in analytic tradecraft and proper use of structured analytic techniques in finished intelligence assessments.
RESPONSIBILITIES (All responsibilities are to be performed on an as needed basis):
• Lead workshops to teach conceptualization of finished intelligence products, critical thinking skills, analytic tradecraft methodologies, and structured analytic techniques.
• Provide one-on-one and small group mentoring sessions to improve critical thinking skills, analytic tradecraft methodologies, and structured analytic techniques.
• Review finished intelligence products to ensure adherence to analytic tradecraft standards and related requirements as outlined in Intelligence Community Directives 203, 206, and 208.
• Provide feedback to client leadership on draft intelligence products as directed.
• Consult with and advise client leadership on analytic tradecraft program development and implementation.
• Provide recommendations on developing, structuring, and implementing an analytic tradecraft program based on the most current intelligence community analytic standards, to include programmatic goals, objectives, organizational standards, and processes.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Master’s Degree in international affairs, national security studies, international business, international terrorism, trends and analysis, intelligence/counterintelligence, or another related field;
• 6+ years’ analytic experience utilizing HUMINT, CI, SIGINT, GEOINT, and OSINT information to identify trends and patterns in threat actor behavior and/or activities at the tactical/operational level experience within DoD or equivalent Government agencies within the last three years;
• 6+ years’ experience researching intelligence reporting using M3, TAC, NGT, Palantir, or RMT;
• 6+ years’ experience writing intelligence assessments based on raw reporting (i.e., not simply presenting summaries of other assessments) and reviewed according to the ODNI’s Analytic Tradecraft Standards;
• 6+ years’ experience teaching specialized workshops involving critical thinking skills, intelligence product conceptualization, analytic tradecraft standards, and structured analytic techniques;
• 6+ years’ experience providing one-on-one and small group mentoring sessions; and • Strong oral and written communication skills.
