Description: SPR is seeking a Database Manager to support the efforts of the customer’s analytics branch, working directly with data scientists and developers to enable quantitative and qualitative analysis, and data visualization efforts.
Highly desirable candidates are familiar with virtual environments, AI, or machine learning.
Major Activities:
- Responsible for overall maintenance of an existing database coded in SQL.
- Interface directly with the customer’s CIO development team to guide creation of a new database that aligns with capabilities requested by the analytics branch to include full text analytics and the ability to ingest and convert unstructured data.
- Creates custom queries and views, and modifies table structures as needed.
- Work directly with customer data scientists to apply quantitative and qualitative research methods, including D3 visualization initiatives.
- Assists the data science team with identifying and resolving roadblocks
- Applies qualitative research methods and produces reports which analyze the findings.
- Designs, implements, and maintains user interfaces for databases.
Skills: Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with both technical and non-technical personnel
Education: Security + Certification (Required within 120 days of starting.) Database certification highly desired.
Experience:
- At least 6 years of demonstrated experience managing SQL databases including query creation and optimization, manipulation of tables, and view creation. Familiarity with NoSQL is a plus but not required.
- Experience working with both structured and unstructured data
- Experience working with MS Office (Access, Excel).
