SUMMARY The Senior Systems Engineer II shall have experience in the area of system design, installation, maintenance, operations, and security of Mil and COTS equipment, as well as a working knowledge of government change control and system fielding processes. The position is not covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA) Davis Bacon Act (DBA), or union.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide experience level knowledge in Navy processes and procedures. Demonstrate leadership qualities, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate problems, recommendations, project plans, and status. Analyze requirements and conduct engineering development, Life-cycle support engineering, Configuration Management, Activation, Training and evaluation of AEGIS systems. Provide oversight & assist in the development of and presentation of technical briefs. Demonstrate proficiency in operating environments and network engineering operations within complex Combat Management Computing and Network Systems or distributed commercial data management centers; includes Software and Hardware Installation, Management, and Repair. Have experience with US Navy COTS maintenance methodologies is preferred. Experience using AEGIS support documentation such as; ACD's, ICD's, AAP, AAL, SRDs, and others); experience as a contributor to AEGIS documentation is preferred.

Required Skills
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience

Bachelor Degree or equivalent and 7 years related experience. Experience in or knowledge of the Aegis Weapon Systems (AWS) and Aegis Combat System (ACS). Experience in or knowledge of Virginia Site missions preferred. Must have or be able to attain a DOD security clearance.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
The Senior Systems Engineer II will have the ability to work independently or as a team lead/member and assist in the development of SRD's & TDP's.
