Career Opportunity
We are currently seeking candidates for a Metrics and Data Analyst at our Chesapeake, VA office. The Metrics and Data Analyst supports the Port Engineering program in collecting, organizing, mining, developing and displaying data.

Responsibilities
Collects, organizes and creates actionable reports for specified performance metric data in support of both internal and external business partners. Graphically displays the data as a series of data points by ships' homeport, showing the progress of each data point over time. Ensures metrics reports will are run weekly for two one month periods annually; once in January and June. Prepares various presentations as required. Creates clear, vivid visualizations of data sets. Produces high-quality user interfaces and visual designs in support of the data and metrics provided. Collaborates closely with managers, engineers and business stakeholders. Presents ideas and designs effectively, leads design review and feedback sessions. Collects and consistently leverages design feedback to improve designs and design process. Commissions and employs end-user research and user metrics. Performs other related duties as assigned.Travel
This position includes a low level of travel.

Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED equivalent. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, candidates must have five years of related experience.

Qualifications

Must possess a valid Driver's License Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance Possess advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills Proficient in using Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visio and possess knowledge and ability with other data display applications Possess ability to collect, organize and create actionable reports Must be detail-oriented with a focus on quality and consistency Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaborates with multiple individuals and teams in the company Possess experience owning and driving projects to completion Is able to communicate concepts and complex ideas to various audiences at different levels of the organization Must be organized and able to prioritize while working on multiple projects
