Position: Microsoft SharePoint Administrator (SPAdmin)

Description: The SPAdmin serves as the primary point of contact for the office with regards to the collaboration components of CBPnet—a SharePoint based platform. The SPAdmin must have the ability to learn, understand and utilize all collaboration tools available within CBPnet.
A successful SPAdmin will be part business analyst and part technology power user. The SPAdmin will work with office personnel to utilize SharePoint collaboration functionality to streamline and automate office processes. The SPAdmin is the subject matter expert in the CBPnet collaboration tool built on the SharePoint platform and provides analysis, design and support for a large Microsoft SharePoint environment. The preferred candidate is considered an expert in Microsoft SharePoint, with a strong working knowledge of the product.
The SPAdmin works closely with the Web Content Administrator (WCA) to ensure strategic coordination of internal Web content and collaboration tools for the office. The SPAdmin will gain an in-depth knowledge of the client’s mission, operational methods, audiences, content, and communication goals and will play a lead role in identifying and implementing CBPnet collaboration tools for office personnel.
The SPAdmin will:
1. Serve as a CBPnet Collaboration coordinator/consultant for their office, encouraging effective and appropriate use of workspaces, collaboration tools, etc. Also, functions as the main POC for collaboration tool user support within the office.
2. Participate in OIT training opportunities and coordination meetings. Assist in identifying training needs within office with regards to collaboration tools. Identify and train collaboration site managers and work closely with them to review site purpose, content, members.
3. Work with OIT, when needed, to develop custom solutions for CBPnet 2.0 collaborative areas and with the office management to establish office usage guidelines for the collaboration areas of CBPnet. Fully understand and implement the office’s CBPnet collaboration guidelines, policies and procedures.
4. Assess workload for office and determine if support resources are needed such as naming points of contact or site managers for collaboration sites.
5. Oversee data security protocols within CBPnet collaboration areas. This entails creating user groups, setting group permissions, and ensuring proper maintenance of user groups.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields.
2. Possesses ability to think creatively to devise customizations and uses for SharePoint.
3. 5+ years of experience with SharePoint systems.
4. Basic knowledge and understanding of SharePoint integration, communication and collaboration technologies with other applications and business systems.
5. Basic knowledge and understanding of SharePoint infrastructure technologies such as database, network, security, server, storage, and workstations.
6. Basic knowledge and understanding of SharePoint communication and collaboration technologies including: messaging; web/media server; multimedia customer contact technologies (call centers, web chat, email, etc.); multimedia productivity solutions (video conferencing, web conferencing, virtual meetings, etc.); unified communications and telephony technologies; social networking technologies; mobile messaging technologies and solutions; office productivity tools and solutions; virtualization technologies; and tools to support and maintain these technologies.
7. Microsoft Associate Certification is a plus.
