Solutions By Design II, LLC (SBD) is seeking a Java Developer to join our team in support of our federal government customer located in Baltimore, MD. The Java Developer will support a major effort to rework several authoring applications into a central application for our customer. This application is a Java application hosted on WebSphere server with an Oracle database back end. The Java Developer will be a part of a team providing comprehensive software engineering and lifecycle support, maintenance and cyclical support, modernizing modules that are using outdated/obsolete tools.
Responsibilities: Provide full lifecycle development support Assist with requirements analysis Enhancements of new system Development of new releases Assist in test and evaluation of completed portions of application Have formal quality control process to review code Provide demonstrations of progress at critical stages Document all development work Ensure all UI screens are 508 compliant Low level design documents (functional requirements) for each module Jira ticket tracking for issues, bugs, and enhancements Class Diagram and Data Model for each module (can be incorporated into Low Level Design document)
Requirements: Bachelor's degree along with 3+ years of applicable experience Java Web Developer familiar with Eclipse or IBM Rapid Application Developer Experience with IBM WebSphere Good understanding and ability to develop code across multiple web browsers/platforms Experience with JSP / Enterprise Java Beans Experience with Java Persistence API (JPA) Experienced with the use of XML and XSLT Use of JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, integrating the features and widgets available in these frameworks into web user interfaces Strong JavaScript and CSS skills. Experience with web technologies such as AJAX and JSON a plus Experience with STRUTS2 and J2EE standards with the use of JSP's, JAVA servlets and web services Ability to write SQL queries to retrieve and manage data Database analysis, design, and implementation; and the extraction and analysis of management information using available tools Familiarity with using common source control systems such as Subversion or PTC MKS Integrity Experience with full SDLC
