SBD is seeking a Senior Database Developer to join our team supporting our federal customer in Washington, DC. The Database Developer will join a team providing IT solutions and demonstrated expertise in the areas of data warehouse development and maintenance, data integration/extract, transform and load (ETL) process development and improvement, systems administration, business data analysis, IT project management, requirements gathering and business process re-engineering (BPR) through the use of IT, knowledge management, web page and content support, and SharePoint development, operations and maintenance.
Responsibilities, Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Ability: Must be able to work at the highest technical level of all phases of application programing activities including: estimation of effort based on requirements, mockup and prototype design, performing testing, and the creating of supporting documentation to include commenting code. Work with stakeholders during all phases of the development lifecycle to identify problems, fix coding errors, and implement requested changes in a timely fashion. Conduct routine, on-going communications with the COR. This will include participating in regularly scheduled meetings (in person or by telephone) to provide updates on work in progress, discussing and resolving identified issues, and other matters which may arise during the period of performance. Function as the database technical point of contact for the COR. Must have excellent communication skills. Provide support for the sustainment and enhancement efforts of the customer's Business Intelligence application for information collection, integration, reporting and analytics. This includes supporting enhancements, system integration and content updates to the application and its database to encompass the broader scope and requirements needed to support reporting, research and analysis for its stakeholder base. Maintain and update the logical data model and physical data model (using tools like ERWin Data Modeler) and associated interface control documents as new data is integrated into the data warehouse. Design develop and document updates of reports, data access logic, user roles and interfaces to support database design and stakeholder requirements using change management and rapid development processes for capturing, reviewing, approving, and testing requirements to ensure proper configuration control, traceability, and integrity. Will be responsible for updating and developing the customer's Business Intelligence application for information collection, integration, reporting and analytics; the application currently resides within the SharePoint-as-a-Service (SPaaS) environment.
Requirements: Must have five (5) or more years of experience using C# and SQL professionally and be up to date on the standards. Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. An additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree is acceptable. Experience or Familiarity with: Microsoft PerformancePoint, SQL Server Reporting Services, Qdabra DBXL, Tableau Software. Experience with SQL based reporting Familiarity with visualization tools Familiarity with C# and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) reporting Must be a US Citizen able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
