Material Expediter (Maintenance)

Job Summary:

The Material Expediter is responsible for providing operational support involving the location and movement of materials and parts related to Class II, IIIP, IV, VII, and IX required for retail supply services in accordance with AR 710-2, DA PAM 710 2-1, DA PAM 710 2-2. ARIMS, DoD 4140.27-M, all Army State and Federal Regulations. These duties include receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, requisitioning, maintaining Stock Readiness Program, to include Caring of Supplies in Storage (COSIS); and turn-ins. The vast majority work on this task order will be conducted on Fort Bragg or the immediate area, but can also include work at off-post locations for a limited time in support of unit training or operations, and the associated logistics functions in support of the Fort Bragg, Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) and Materiel Maintenance Division (MMD) mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Locates and moves all materials & parts related to Class II, IV, VII, and IX retail supply services between work areas of building/warehouse to expedite processing of goods according to predetermined schedules and priorities or needs of the department.

• Communicates with shops and customers to ensure all parts are ordered and received in a timely manner, as well as ensuring all is done IAW appropriate regulations.

• Receives, verifies, and inventories material/equipment, signing appropriate receipt documentation, and preparing all appropriate documentation for filing and movement of materials/equipment between warehouse locations; maintaining all documentation IAW AR 710-2, DA PAM 710 2-2, ARIMS, and internal SOPs.

• Pulls Material Release Orders (MROs) for all Class II, IV, VII, and IX items (ASL & Excess) IAW SSA Internal Procedures, AR 710-2 and DA PAM 710 2-2; Relocation of assets (bin-to-bin) and creates new locations, if required.

• Ensures all material and equipment in bin matches MROs, are post good issued, and placed in the appropriate bins; Files & maintains all corresponding documentation IAW ARMIS, AR 710-2, DA PAM 710 2-1, and DA PAM 710 2-2.

• Develops and maintains weekly, monthly, and as needed reports IAW applicable requirements as directed by Lead, Supervisor or Department Manager.

• Conducts detailed parts research to include availability information, replacement items, shipment data, and recoverability codes.

• Conducts inventories, including pre-inventory location surveys and post-inventory causative research.

• Moves or transports materials using material handling equipment (i.e. hand truck or industrial truck).

• Provide appropriate technical assistance and responses to shops regarding status on jobs awaiting a part(s).

• May be required to do on-site shop visits to assist with storage and location of stock, as well as reconciliation of reporting matrixes.

• Confers with department supervisors to determine materials overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials.

• If necessary, expedite movement of materials between storage and production areas, compare work ticket specifications with material at work stations to verify appropriateness of material in use, prepare worker production records and timecards, and may update and maintain inventory records, using computer terminal.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Must have comprehensive knowledge of the applicable supply and equipment management processes, related regulations, and is required to ensure effective accountability of all assigned property.

• Must possess excellent computer, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be able to prioritize, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and interact at all levels.

• Must possess the ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, SharePoint), preferred.

• General knowledge of the logistics information policies, processes, and systems pertaining to Supply and Services, Movement Operations, AR 710-2, DA PAM 710 2-1 and DA PAM 710 2-2.

• Three (3) to five (5) years of job-related experience, preferred.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, SharePoint), and other software programs to assist with special projects, process business unit invoices, and other compliance programs

• Knowledge, experience, and operational skills of related Logistics Information Systems (LIS).

• Knowledge of the characteristics and uses of repair parts, maintenance operations and shop layouts, production control processes, and supply sources.

• Requires knowledge of a limited variety, mechanical, electrical and electronic repair parts an equipment serviced by the maintenance facility in order to assist a higher graded employee to identify, request and receive routine parts, tools, and equipment.

• The work requires only a general knowledge of shop operations, production control procedures, and established supply and requisition procedures.

• NACI Investigation required

• Must have a valid driver's license

• Specific contractual requirements regarding education and experience prevail where applicable.

Working Conditions:

• Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 25 percent of the time or more.

• May performing work in conditions of inclement weather, extreme heat and cold, high/low humidity, blowing sand and dust, and working in confined spaces and at heights.
