MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: Vectrus has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Technical Configuration Manager (CM). This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, CJTF-HOA located OCONUS in DJIBOUTI, Africa. This position is required to travel OCONUS. Performs other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
The CM will be responsible for working with developmental and operational teams to create and maintain multiple, disparate configuration baselines (e.g., development, test, production) for their systems. Configuration Managers will recommend and utilize automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures. CM will develop and modify CM plans, policies, and procedures and tailor them to the complexity and scope of each developmental or operational system. CM will exercise CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems, from the initial definition of requirements and capabilities of system baselines through the end-of-life of each system. In addition, the CM will provide CM planning, defining provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits. The CM will regulate the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Office working location. The CM will provide remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Will be required to sit for extended periods of time.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of
education, if degree is required.
- Currently hold an adjudicated Secret Clearance and be able to maintain
- Professional certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8570.01 IAT 2 (CompTIA Security +, equal or greater)
- Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) Intermediate Release, Control, and validation (RCV)
- Must be willing/able to work OCONUS for minimum of one year
- Provide technical leadership and cross-training to peers in areas of expertise
- Act as a resource to team members, participates in team and professional meetings
- Coaches and provides input as to the needs of Infrastructure staff;
- Provide 3rd line technical support as needed
- Five years of experience as a configuration manager in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- 5 years' experience using and administering CM tools to store, track, and manage configuration items
- Effective communications throughout all levels of operational command
- Experience supporting Command Post of the Future concepts and configurations
- Ability to document system process and architecture
- BA/BS +3 yrs recent specialized or AA/AS +7 yrs recent specialized or a major cert + 7 yrs recent specialized or 11 years
of recent specialized
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
- Experience supporting CJTF
