The Lead Calibration/Maintenance Tech position is available at the Merck Animal Health facility in Elkhorn, Nebraska, located on the West end of Omaha. The Elkhorn facility is expanding operations to manufacture animal vaccines and biologics. This position requires the instrument calibration technician to provide onsite services, such as:

Calibration, Troubleshooting, Repair, and Preventive Maintenance of laboratory and process instrumentation and equipment for Customers regulated by the USDA , ensure conformance to established calibration and process specifications; Capable of supporting the calibration of: Gas, Conductivity, Dimensional, Flow (air & liquid), Humidity, Level, Load Cells & Scales, pH, Pipettes, Power Supplies (volts/amps), Pressure, Resistance, Speed, Temperature, and Timing Devices; Support laboratory equipment calibrations and loop calibrations of process instrumentation to ensure conformance to established calibration and process specifications; Follow Merck's, SOPs, Customer Procedures, and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Skills
The job requirements for this position are as follows:Must be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft office, email, and can learn to work within custom database and software applications, to perform routine job duties.2-3 years of related experience in the Calibration Services Industry or related field;Strong Interpersonal and communication skills, ability to move between task types and remain efficient, show initiative, good planning and organizational skills look for and pitch process improvements.Must be able to lift 50Lbs, work on equipment bending, kneeling, sitting, and/or standing.

Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:

High School diploma
Required Experience and Skills:
Must be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft office, email, and can learn to work within custom database and software applications, to perform routine job duties.Aptitude to effectively problem-solve and collaborate with othersStrong Interpersonal and communication skills, ability to move between task types and remain efficient, show initiative, good planning and organizational skills look for and pitch process improvements.Must be able to lift 50Lbs, work on equipment bending, kneeling, sitting, and/or standing.Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test
Preferred Experience and Skills:
2-3 years of related experience in the Calibration Services Industry or related field.

Compensation/Benefits

Merck pays a competitive salary with an

annual bonus, overtime pay for work over 40 hours and higher differential pay for nights and weekends attractive benefit packages with health, dental, and vision insurance for self and family 401k match and Pension benefits minimum 3 weeks' vacation plus 9 holidays and 4 Shutdown days (prorated first year)
