Career Opportunity
We are currently seeking candidates for a SSDS Technical Operator/Trainer position, located in our Wallops Island, Virginia station. The Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island, VA requires support for IT engineering, operation, and technical expertise in support of equipment, systems and computer programs in support of the Navy warfighter.

Responsibilities
Setup combat systems labs for mission events. Setup involves coordination with SCSC's customer(s), Combat Systems, and Operations departments to identify event equipment and computer program configuration, obtain computer programs and electronic data from the Technical Library or electronic load management system, installation of computer programs, loading of computers and energizing equipment in accordance with procedures, establishment of interface switch paths, performing system checkout, and other site preparations necessary to ensure the readiness of the requested systems and equipment to support a successful mission event. Collect system recorded data during the event. Response to customer issues during the event. Perform systematic take down at the completion of the mission event. Set up combat systems for events as per event run sheet and provide technical support during events. Provide comprehensive readiness, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting support at the equipment and system level and restoration of equipment and systems to design specifications for all combat system facilities at SCSC. Provide on-the-job training to the Navy members of the integrated maintenance team and computer operators. Plan and schedules maintenance to minimize systems and equipment downtime to maximize mission support, while still maintaining high system availability and also meeting planned maintenance schedules. Promptly report to leadership the status of systems and equipment that are not functioning properly and have the potential to impact customer events.Travel
This position includes a low level of travel.

Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED equivalent and a Bachelor's Degree. Candidates must have 10 years of experience onboard an SSDS platform, with a minimum of 4 years as a SSDS Combat Systems Manager (CSMM) or a Combat Systems Senior Enlisted leading a team of technical/tactical operators engaged in the employment of Surface Weapon Systems in the support of Surface, Air, Strike, and C4I Candidates must have 3 years of technical experience, specifically on SSDS MK1 and MK2 combat systems Experience working in an RDT&E environment is preferred Knowledge and experience with ACCESS and TRMS is preferred

Qualifications
Must possess a valid Driver's License Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
