Career Opportunity
We are currently seeking candidates for an AEGIS Computer Operator position, located in our Wallops Island, Virginia station. The Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island, VA requires support for IT engineering, operation, and technical expertise in support of equipment, systems and computer programs in support of the Navy warfighter.

Responsibilities
Support Navy combat system research development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) events by configuring equipment, loading computer programs, and collecting data in accordance with approved operations schedules, test plans, and data collection plans. Retrieve all required software and media from the Technical Library at the beginning of the shift and return all software/media at the end of the shift. Install media and load computers in accordance with procedures Verify basic functionality of computing systems Configure, record, and collect data in accordance with data collection plans Maintain cognizance of system status throughout scheduled events Promptly report system and equipment failures to leadership Maintain cognizance of computer program delivery schedules, identify required computer programs not currently held at SCSC, maintain a listing of computer program configurations, and handle, store, and control in a manner to prevent unapproved changes, damage or deterioration. Identify obsolete programs and recommend their disposition or destruction to the Government. Maintain pass down logs for following shifts Maintain standard operating procedures Maintain strict adherence to classified information handling procedures and security protocols.
Travel
This position includes a low level of travel.

Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED equivalent Associates' Degree in a technical or computer related discipline OR two (2) years of experience loading and maintaining program/project documentation for AEGIS Combat Systems. This experience includes loading computer programs and equipment utilizing established procedures, verifying system operations, setting up and collecting data recording/data extraction, and documenting observed issues/problems while operating AEGIS combat Systems suites.
Must be able to work varied shifts

Must possess a valid Driver's License Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
