Career Opportunity
We are currently seeking candidates for a Technical Library Information Technology Systems Administrator position, located in our Port Hueneme, CA office. Our Navy client requires IT engineering, operation, and technical expertise for equipment, systems and computer programs that support of the Navy warfighter and the Navy's critical mission of defending our nation.

Responsibilities
Administers and supports daily operational requirements of library and information computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web servers. Responsible for installing hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, planning and implementing long-range automation plan, period reports, and local system design documentation. Train staff on software applicable to their position, assists patrons with information technology, and provides instruction on computers and applications. Manage and perform inventories of library computer technology, equipment, and library furnishings. Supervise non-professional library staff and managing staff assignments. Plans and conducts library promotions, orientations and library surveys. Responsible for routine reference and research services, assisting library customers. Supports the Port Hueneme Government Technical Library Manager in all required tasks.Education and Experience
Associates' degree or higher in Library Science, Library and Information Science, or equivalent is required; Bachelors' degree or higher in Library Science, Library and Information Science, or equivalent is preferred. Two (2) years' experience as a librarian preferably in a Federal Library with at least one (1) year supervising para-professional library staff. Detailed knowledge of security requirements for handling, storage, inventory and destruction of classified material in accordance with SECNAV 5510 (series). Full professional knowledge of the theories, objectives, principles, and techniques of librarianship. Ability to select, organize, preserve, access, and disseminate information. Knowledge of library technical and public services operations to include, but not necessarily limited to, acquisition, collection development, cataloging and classification, circulation, library computer systems and data base management, preservation, Web development, reference and research service, is essential.
