Overview
This position is responsible for all of the pieces of the employment life cycle as it relates to the AbilityOne One program at GCE (Global Connections to Employment). Specifically, the position is designed to: Create opportunities to educate community referral sources about GCE's mission and hiring opportunities. Conduct outreach and recruitment activities for adults with disabilities. Serve as outreach liaison between internal/external customers. Secure appropriate disability documentation to support AbilityOne eligibility for GCE applicants. Conduct initial evaluations for GCE applicants to ensure AbilityOne eligibility. Conduct annual evaluations for GCE applicants to ensure continued AbilityOne eligibility. Assist GCE staff with identification of workplace accommodations and supports for GCE employees in adherence to GCE's policy on accommodations. Assist GCE staff with the identification of and resolution of existing and potential barriers that Impede job retention for GCE employees. Build and maintain effective relationships with Corporate Employee Relations staff to ensure support provided to GCE employees is compliant with policies and procedures. Connect GCE employees to resources/community partners that can facilitate placement into community jobs when feasible and/or when requested by the employee. Provide reports to contractor when required. Collaborate with division staff to promote an atmosphere of teamwork, enthusiasm, and commitment to the organization's mission and goals. Comply with all organizational policies. Adhere to GCE standards of performance at all times. Positively represent GCE, Inc. in all job duties and communications with others. Maintain current competence through continuing education. Maintain compliance with mandatory training requirements. Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, Human Resources or related field and two (2) years of related experience; Associates Degree with four (4) years of experience in working with adults with disabilities in an employment setting; or a High School Diploma/GED with six (6) years of experience working with adults with disabilities in an employment setting. Must have experience assessing and documenting workplace accommodations and supports. Must have experience in employment outreach/recruitment activities. Must possess a valid driver's license, good driving record, and be insurable under GCE policy. Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to travel to community events and Company sites, both locally, and out of state. The employee will be required to provide oral presentations to small and large audiences. The employee will be required to operate computer equipment and other basic office equipment. The employee may assist with diffusing stressful situations in the workplace using approved conflict resolution techniques.
