Chief Objective of Position
The Assistant Director of Student Activities ( ADSA ) for Greek Life is responsible for establishing and maintaining a diverse and vibrant fraternity and sorority community on the CNU campus. Reporting to the Director of Student Activities, the ADSA for Greek Life will direct the development and oversight for the undergraduate experience of students involved with fraternities and sororities. The Assistant Director of Student Activities should demonstrate a commitment to understanding and working with diverse student populations.The ADSA for Greek Life will help establish and implement policies and standards in areas of academic, personal, social and residential living as they specifically relate to fraternity and sorority students. The ADSA for Greek Life will lead the expansion efforts of the CNU fraternity and sorority community and will assist with the oversight and management of CNU Greek Village. The ADSA for Greek Life will help develop and direct the philosophical and practical vision of campus activity programming to meet the departmental and University goal of facilitating student success for all undergraduates.

Work Tasks
1. Develops a comprehensive plan/model that directs the social, academic, and personal growth issues within the fraternity and sorority community.
2. Assists in the creation of University policies and procedures related to fraternity and sorority life.
3. Responsible for the budget management and financial of aspects of the Greek community including developing budgets for events and programs and completing the appropriate procurement processes.
4. Serves as point of contact to national and international fraternity and sorority organizations, their alumni, and their governing organizations ( NIC , NPC , NPHC ).
5. Provides oversight for all governing councils and acts as a resource for all chapters within the Greek community.
6. Facilitates the identification and selection of new organizations to be invited to join the Greek community at CNU .
7. Assesses fraternity and sorority norms, behaviors, perceptions and attitudes for fraternity and sorority members and non-affiliated students. Develops goals and objectives to address any shortcomings. Implements formal assessment procedures based on these criteria.
8. Oversees all fraternity and sorority community-based conduct review processes and judicial procedures and supports the CNU CHECS Office with University-directed judicial matters.
9. Has key responsibility in the management of CNU Greek housing including developing, implementing and enforcing policies and guidelines, supporting the selection and supervision of resident assistants, and in partnership with Residence Life establishing community development curriculum that create a positive living environment and experience.
10. Directs the chapter development curriculum for the fraternity and sorority community that includes relevant education topics of interest to fraternity and sorority chapters and members.
11. Oversees and evaluates major fraternity and sorority event initiatives, including but not limited to, new member recruitment and intake processes, membership education projects, scholarship and retention programs, and other campus-wide activities.
12. Provides assistance on major campus-wide events sponsored by Office of Student Activities, such as Club Fair, Homecoming, the Captain's Ball and the Student Leadership Awards Reception.
13. Works closely with community partners and stakeholders to facilitate student success initiatives.
14. Supervises, guides, and directs staff through training, task delegation and evaluation.
15. Participates in summer orientation, welcome week programs, and commencement activities.
16. Develops and maintains exceptional customer service and within the department and with all constituencies to include students, faculty, staff, guests, and employees. Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude and treats everyone with dignity and respect. Fully supports the "Student's First" value at CNU and routinely goes the extra mile in providing service.
17. Serves in a "designated position" meaning this position could potentially be required to work (depending on the event) during an emergency, to include a university closing.
18. Serves as a Campus Security Authority. A Campus Security Authority ( CSA ) is defined for purposes of the reporting under the Clery Act as an "official of the institution with significant responsibility for student and campus activities". A CSA is required to immediately report any crime that is reported to them to the University Police who will then review, evaluate, and investigate the reported crime.
19. This position is designated as a "responsible employee" who has the authority to redress sexual violence, who has the duty to report incidents of sexual violence or other student misconduct, or who a student could reasonably believe has this authority or duty.
20. Safety issues are reviewed and communicated to insure a safe and healthy workplace and a reduction in work related absences.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) required
Strong organization and administrative skills. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer proficiency in word processing applications and e-mail applications. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays and flexible work hours.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) preferred

Required Education
Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel Administration or related field; or a Bachelor's degree plus significant campus or community programming experience that equates to an advanced degree.

Preferred Education

Experience Required
Experience working with fraternity and sorority communities and constituents. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing involvement programs and educational initiatives.

Experience Preferred
Membership in a values-based, social Greek letter organization. Demonstrated significant experience working with fraternity and sorority communities, NPHC , Panhellenic, and IFC Councils and constituents on a college campus. Demonstrated experience supervising professional staff, students in campus leadership roles, student staff/workers and/or graduate assistants. Previous experience working directly with fraternity and sorority housing aspects including operation management and implementation of community programming. Direct experience with risk management. Experience working with clubs and organizations on a college/university campus. Experience providing leadership development programs. Demonstrated experience in advising students. Previous experience negotiating contracts, managing budgets, and collaborating with various constituents. Experience developing, implementing and evaluating assessment measures. Experience with campus or community programming.
