Chief Objective of Position
The Director of Faculty Recruitment effectively administers and coordinates the University's recruitment program for all instructional, administrative and professional faculty positions. The Director is responsible for the oversight of the faculty search process; consulting with and advising search committees on search issues; and providing guidance and VISA assistance in hiring international faculty.
The Director has a dual reporting structure. The successful candidate will report to the Provost for Instructional Faculty Recruitment and the Chief of Staff for Administrative and Professional Faculty Recruitment and, as an at-will employee, serves at the pleasure of the Provost and Chief of Staff.

Work Tasks
1. Serves as the principle point of contact for all searches for instructional, administrative and professional faculty positions. Enhances the CNU culture by recruiting qualified faculty who embrace CNU's values and vision.
2. Develops and manages the University's faculty recruitment program. Maintains and updates as necessary the policies and processes related to faculty recruitment.
3. Supports Search Chair/committees by providing current recruitment information, resources and techniques. Provides training and consults with faculty and staff on proper hiring policies, procedures, and compliance issues. Provides technical information and training on the effective use of the PeopleAdmin online recruitment system. Advises on screening and interviewing techniques and assists in developing behavioral and other interviewing questions as needed.
4. Resolves search/recruitment issues based on best practices. Interprets complex policies in developing and administering recruitment and hiring processes. Routinely exercises independent judgment and decision-making. Maintains the confidentiality of all recruitment information as required by law, policy, and best practices.
5. Develops job criteria for advertisement based on the position description. Develops and publishes position advertisements to achieve optimal applicant pools. Communicates CNU Key Values to applicants through positive advertisements, web and PeopleAdmin recruitment content.
6. Effectively and accurately utilizes computer databases and spreadsheets to manage recruitment data. Tracks the progress of each search and provides search committee updates to ensure timeliness of process.
7. Ensures recruitment files are completed to include all required information. Follows proper guidelines for retention of recruitment files.
8. Consults with applicants as needed to answer questions concerning the search process and reasons for non-selection using excellent judgment and interpretation of complex recruitment, hiring and equal opportunity policies and procedures.
9. Assists in the hiring of international researchers and scholars to teach and conduct research by accurately disseminating information on Federal rules and regulations related to compliance with immigration issues and completing Visa paperwork as needed. Collaborates as needed with the Immigration Attorney.
10. Collaborates with the Provost, Chief of Staff and Director of Title IX and EO to consistently and fairly apply guiding principles for recruitment. Seeks assistance in difficult situations from the Director of Title IX and EO and the Director of Human Resources.
11. Working with the Office of Communications and Public Relations, develops an effective outreach-marketing plan to increase awareness of the recruitment program, process and services.
12. Develops and maintains needed data and reports for use by the Provost and Chief of Staff.
13. Develops and maintains very positive and professional customer service and/or relations with all constituencies to include faculty, staff, applicants, and guests. Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude and treats everyone with dignity and respect. Fully supports CNU Traditions and the "Students First" value at CNU and routinely goes the extra mile in providing service.
14. Reviews and communicates safety issues to assure a safe and healthy workplace and a reduction in work related absence.
15. This position is designated as a "responsible employee" who has the authority to redress sexual violence, who has the duty to report incidents of sexual violence or other student misconduct, or who a student could reasonably believe has this authority or duty.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) required
Knowledge: Significant working knowledge of the theories, principles, best practices and laws of recruitment, selection and hiring. Significant knowledge of screening applications, principles of interviewing, candidate selection, references and hiring. Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Skilled in working with database software and in developing reports. Abilities: Ability to routinely interpret complex personnel regulations and policies to ensure fairness, consistency and equitable treatment of candidates. Ability to meet and relate well to diverse individuals, and thrive in complex environments. Ability to manage simultaneous, high profile and diverse efforts and priorities with competing deadlines, and with limited supervision. Ability to work independently, or as a contributing member of a team. Ability to understand theory and concepts, yet have the ability to work with details in an accurate and timely manner. Demonstrated ability to analyze data and reach logical conclusions and present conclusions effectively in verbal and written form. Ability to communicate and respond diplomatically. Ability to develop and maintain exemplary relationships and deliver outstanding service. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) preferred
Knowledge: Working knowledge of federal laws and regulations pertaining to immigration and hiring of international faculty.

Required Education
Must have a Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field, or a Bachelor's Degree with extensive directly related recruitment experience, which equates to an advanced degree.

Preferred Education
SHRM - SCP or SPHR certification.

Experience Required
Significant experience in recruiting professional level/ leadership positions (For Example: Instructional Faculty Members, Vice Presidents, Directors, Executives, and Leadership Positions). Significant experience in performing duties related to the complete recruitment cycle. Experience in interpreting complex policies relating to recruitment. Experience with online recruitment systems.

Experience Preferred
Experience in managing recruitment operations; Recruitment experience in a college or university setting. Experience in managing an online recruitment system such as PeopleAdmin. Experience with the immigration process including completing Visa paperwork.
