Job Description:

SSI provides instructors, cultural advisors, linguists, interpreters, translators, subject matter experts, advisors, mentors, role players, training support specialists, training delivery officers, intelligence analysts, counterintelligence (CI) specialists, technical support, field technicians, security professionals, logistics specialists, operations coordinators, budget specialists, administrative support specialists, emergency medical technicians (EMT), exercise controllers (EXCON), mission managers, project managers, program managers for a wide variety of mission critical requirements.
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, perform a variety of responsible and complex technical and administrative duties relating to personnel functions and programs including in the areas of workers compensation, employee relations, and liability claims; provide information and assistance to employees and the general public regarding human resources activities, processes, policies, and procedures; prepare various correspondence and memoranda; coordinate activities related to area of assignment; and perform a variety of tasks requiring specialized knowledge related to area of assignment; provides administrative support to the Human Resources Manager on all personnel matters and assists with payroll processing.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Maintain and organize DocuSign Create recruitment roster (Role Players) Prepare offer letters Send out new hire documents to new hire/rehire employees via DocuSign Create New Hire/Rehire/Benefits checklists Enter employee information on HR Connections website, send Benefits Welcome e-mail to employees, generate Benefits checklist Assist in benefits open enrollment through HR Connections Create employee files and submit to payroll Create PAF and forward updated employee information to Payroll Audit files and collect missing required documents Complete New Hire/Rehire check lists Audit I-9 forms and process newly hired employee's information in E-Verify systems Process newly hired employee's information in MD New Hire Maintain employee personnel records ensuring timely and accurate updates Process Employment Verifications (including background check requests and unemployment claims) Scan and save all unemployment claims, garnishment notices, employment verifications given to HR by payroll for filing Process Terminations through HR Connections, generate termination process (including termination checklist) Process Leave Request Forms (including FMLA) Guide applicants through SSI onboarding process (including medical screening for international employees) Provide ongoing support to SSI employees and assist regarding human resources issues, policies, and procedures. Maintain HR Initiative Report Nonessential Functions
Perform other duties as assigned Research data for HR projects Cover front desk/lobby area as needed Assist with company main phone line Assist HR Manager with various research projects and/or special projects Minimum Education/Experience
College degree 1-2 years of previous Human Resources related experience required Knowledge of HRIS, E-Verify, MD New Hire and other HR information systems Qualifications Desired
Experience with processing offer letters, benefits, and DocuSign a plus Knowledge
Computer literacy, MS Office, Time Management and Payroll Systems
