Overview
Advanced Concepts and Technologies International (ACT I) is a Small Business Prime Contractor providing support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL) supports the Department's mission to secure the nation while preserving individual liberty, fairness, and equality under the law. CRCL integrates civil rights and civil liberties into all of the Department activities by promoting respect for civil rights and civil liberties in policy creation and implementation by advising Department leadership and personnel, and state and local partners; communicating with individuals and communities whose civil rights and civil liberties may be affected by Department activities, informing them about policies and avenues of redress, and promoting appropriate attention within the Department to their experiences and concerns; investigating and resolving civil rights and civil liberties complaints filed by the public, regarding Department policies or activities, or actions taken by Department personnel; and leading the Department's equal employment opportunity programs and promoting workforce diversity and merit system principles.

The candidate shall work in a high-volume production environment and perform a variety of duties necessary to ensure that CRCL's activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. There will be multiple positions with related but distinguishable tasks in one or more areas.

Responsibilities
General Support: Perform data entry, file management, correspondence. Make and answer phone calls. Conduct research on a variety of civil rights and liberties issues; prepare, send, and track routine correspondence; manage incoming and outgoing mail; and prepare routine reports. Provide information access assistance to a blind staff member.

Meeting support: schedule meetings and conference calls; reserve conference rooms; review calendars a week ahead to ensure all meetings are adequately staffed and resources are obtained; escort visitors to and from DHS meetings; assist with conference room set up; compile post-event attendee lists and evaluations at the direction of the meeting organizer; photocopy and assemble meeting and briefing materials; and

Travel support: assist staff with making travel arrangements and preparing travel vouchers; package and ship meeting and conference materials.

Qualifications
Candidate shall show progressive administrative experience, defined as clerical, office, or other administrative work.

Demonstrates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position.

Experience includes:

1. Familiarity with DHS policies, procedures, and systems;
2. filing and maintaining office records;
3. compiling and tracking data;
4. providing computer assistance;
5. scheduling meetings;
6. typing correspondence;
7. compiling meeting materials;
8. managing multiple calendars.
9. Experience working in a fast paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 5+ years of general administrative experience
• required: Active DHS suitability/ Entry on Duty (EOD) from any DHS component
