Scrum Master
Summary
The primary purpose of the Scrum Master (SM) role is to serve as the organization leader for one or more agile delivery teams, by practicing and enforcing clear communication within the team and therefore aiding the team to reach its delivery goals. The SM will drive the appropriate agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban/etc.) focused on predictable, quality delivery and driving continuous improvement of the team.

Serve as scrum master for one or more teams.
Facilitate team productivity by removing impediments that may obstruct the pursuit of the team's goals and by preserving flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to changes on the team.
Integrate Agile & Lean principles into team practices and work products.
Ensure team maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery.
Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation, if required).
Actively seek and participate in a variety of learning opportunities such as Communities of Practice, conferences, classroom training and independent study to further develop self and community.
Demonstrate the ability to balance data with other factors when making decisions.
Understand high level domain architecture and upstream/downstream dependencies.
Utilize team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and works with team to continuously improve.
Coach the team to improve collaboration and self-organization.
Develop the ability to coach team on XP Engineering practices and benefits.



Education and Experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science or a related field is preferred. However will consider a combination of experience and education in lieu of a degree with specialized coursework, training, or experience in information technology and data analysis.
Minimum of one (1) year of agile experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of (2) years' of Agile experience.
Experience as part of an agile team.
Scrum Alliance CSM or CSP certification or PMI's Agile Certified Professional (ACP).
PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification.
SAFe certified or experience (or other scaled agile frameworks).




Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not supervise employees.

Licenses and Certifications
There are no additional licenses and/or certifications required.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
* Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*

Travel
Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
