SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Mechanic Helper assists in managing all equipment in storage and equipment coming in from the field. This includes servicing and maintaining inventory in ready for issue (RFI) status and assisting with equipment inventories and inspections. This position will report to the Area Manager.
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt (hourly)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with tracking inventory and maintenance of all Navy-owned and Phoenix-owned equipment assigned to that location. Work with limited supervision to complete assigned tasks. Work with job supervisors identifying equipment to be mobilized. Comply with established Phoenix QMS processes and procedures. Work as directed to repair and refurbish equipment. Perform pre and post operational inspections on optest and inventories. Perform basic facility upgrades and repairs. Assist with facility shipping and receiving department operation. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Possess a Mechanical background. Be familiar with diving industry related equipment. Forklift experience helpful. Computer experience helpful. Good communications skills. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Eligible to operate company vehicles. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and physical, as required. Some travel required.
