Job Description:

IOMAXIS is actively seeking a I/Q - Radio Frequency (RF) Communications and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Software Engineer to support Software Defined Radio (SDR) application development. This senior member plays a dynamic role carrying out a range of responsibilities that may include:
• The design, build, testing and deployment of communications systems using software-defined radio (SDR) and SDR frameworks, as well as field programmable gate array (FPGA) technologies.
• The design, development, construction, testing and maintenance of software processing components; typically subsystems of communication, collection, processing or analysis systems.
• Working with and/or leading project teams to satisfy operational requirements for RF SW systems.
• Leading new advances in SDR interface engineering and novel application of telecommunication standards, protocols and topologies.
• Service-oriented architectures and microservice development and integration.
This is a full time position in Springfield, VA. However, an alternate location or Telecommuting options may be considered. Now available and interviewing!

REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline and 4 years of related experience; 4 years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Subject matter expert in RF Communications and/or DSP software development.
• Good verbal and writing skills with attention to detail and ability to create technical documentation and plans.

DESIRED:

Preferred skills, knowledge and experience in one or more of the following is value-add:
• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline and 8 or more years of related experience.
• Experience applying concepts, theories, and methods for designing, analyzing, testing, and integrating I/Q data stream processing such as ANSI VITA 49.x.
• Experience applying principles, methods, and applications of communication theory such as signal processing, decision theory, estimation theory and modulation-demodulation.
• Subject matter expert with wireless communication Protocols (e.g., RLC (LTE), MAC (3GPP LTE, 802.11)), and Standards (e.g., VITA 49.x, IEEE 1900.x, IEEE802.11, 3GPP LTE, 3GPP UMTS, TETRA PMR, Blue Book SS7).
• Demonstrated expertise with computer networking Protocols (e.g., TCP/UDP/IP, RTP, MPLS, NDN) and Technologies (e.g., distributed systems, Internet of Things, real-time systems, routing and switching).
• Knowledge of Software Defined Radio (SDR) frameworks and standards such as Software Communications Architecture (SCA), GNU Radio, REDHAWK and X-Midas.
• Demonstrated capability in Scientific Programming (e.g., Assembly Language, C, C++, CSH/BASH Shell scripting, JAVA, JSON, Matlab, Python, Ruby).
