Currently, LCE is seeking Shipyard Qualified Tradesman out of Kittery, ME. Please find the position details below and additional details about our company, culture and benefits at the bottom of this post.

Shipyard Qualified Tradesman

Provide Skilled Labor in area of expertise (e.g., Fire Watch, Welder, Sheet Metal Mechanic, Outside Machinist, Inside Machinist, Pipefitter, Electrician, Painter, Ship fitter, Riggers, etc.) in support of work at Public Shipyards onboard Submarines and Surface ships.

Contract Specifications Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance Education & Experience Must have achieved Journeyman qualifications or equivalent military training and/or experience in his/her trade at the WG-10 level. Must have trades experience in Public Shipyards working on US Navy Ships. High school diploma or equivalency Must have at least 10 or more years of Public Shipyard or equivalent military training and/or experience. Must have experience with tools of his/her trade. Prefer experience in anyone of the following shops: 11, 17, 26, 31, 38, 51, 56, 64, 71, 72 or 90/99. Must be able to read and interpret Tech Manuals. Read and follow technical work documents (Task Group Instructions written in AIM). Must be able to demonstrate proper and safe work practice. Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must display the ability to read drawings, blue prints and design sketches. Must be able to work effectively with others and follow directions from supervisors. Have good organizational skills. Must be familiar with local shipyard instructions and procedures as they apply to his/her trade.
