Public Shipyard Qualified Tradesman

Life Cycle Engineering is currently seeking individuals with experience in the following trades: Electrician Electronics Mechanic Fire Watch Machinist Marine Machinery Mechanic Painter/Sandblaster Pipefitter Sheet Metal Worker Shipfitter Shipwright Welder This will support Public Shipyard work onboard Submarines and Surface ships.

Contract Specifications: Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance Required Education and Experience: Must have achieved Journeyman qualifications or equivalent military training and/or experience in his/her trade at the WG-10 level. Must have trades experience in Public Shipyards working on US Navy Ships. High school diploma or equivalency Must have at least 10 or more years of Public Shipyard or equivalent military training and/or experience. Must have experience with tools of his/her trade. Prefer experience in anyone of the following shops: 11, 17, 26, 31, 38, 51, 56, 64, 71, 72 or 90/99. Ability to read and interpret Tech Manuals. Ability to read drawings, blue prints and design sketches. Ability to read and follow technical work documents (Task Group Instructions written in AIM). Ability to demonstrate proper and safe work practices. Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work effectively with others and follow directions from supervisors. Have good organizational skills. Must be familiar with local shipyard instructions and procedures as they apply to his/her trade. Physical Demands and Expectations: Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, standing and prolonged sitting Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment This position description represents a summary of the major components and requirements of the outlined job.
