Business Analyst

Position Summary:

You will provide business analysis support to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Chief Information Office's (CIO). The effort includes technical analysis, customer proxy support, supporting the development team, and create/maintain user stories backlog. This work is located at one of multiple government facilities in the DC area.

Contract Requirements: Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance Must be IAT Level II compliant (Security+ or equivalent) Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Perform a variety of analytical tasks which are broad in nature and are concerned with the design and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software and support facilities and/or equipment Perform with some latitude for un-reviewed actions and decisions Plan and perform analytical and engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering and customer specifications Coordinate the activities of technicians assigned to specific analytical projects Collect, organize, summarize and report on various data sets and produce metrics and reports Define user stories, prioritize the backlog Serve as the customer proxy and interface with government, internal, and other contractual staff to ensure successful delivery of units of work Interface with the scrum master on a daily basis to set the direction of the SW development team Help with iteration planning, test acceptance, and team demos and retrospectives Contribute to vision and product backlog Establish story acceptance criteria and accept stories into the baseline Required Education, Skills, and Experience: Bachelor's degree required. Four (4) years' experience performing Business Analyst duties Experience as a business/technical analyst or product owner on agile SW development projects Experience with Jira or comparable SCRUM/SDLC management software Experience with Confluence or comparable wiki/collaboration tools Experience with MS Project and other management & reporting tools Advanced experience in a particular discipline/domain. Experience leading resolution of complex technical issues. Experience providing expert guidance and direction to Government and vendor senior level technicians and managers. Demonstrates ability to collect, organize, summarize and report on various data sets and produce metrics and reports, create presentations, proposals, outlines, and summaries. Preferred Skills and Experience: (this is optional) Twelve (12) years' experience performing Business Analyst duties Experience performing tasks of senior level technicians, specialists, and/or managers. SAFe certification and/or experience Document system requirements, designs, and configurations Physical Demands and Expectations: Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
