Jr. Programmer Internship

Position Summary:

We have a new opening for current students! Our programming internship began 6 years ago and our goal is to help students to increase their skills and abilities by utilizing their knowledge outside of the classroom. We hope to help you make connections, increase learning potential and hopefully become full-time employees once the internship is complete. This is an ongoing internship starting FT in Summer 2018, PT during semesters, and potential to become a FT opportunity after graduation. All grade levels welcome to apply. This person will help develop and implement web applications for U.S. Navy projects. The selected candidate will work in a team environment and will learn more about using PHP, JavaScript and Microsoft SQL Server.

Contract Requirements: Must be a US citizen and have the ability to receive and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Put together a PHP page with some assistance Develop MS Access databases Learn new things on the fly in a fast-paced environment Utilize JavaScript libraries (jQuery) to manipulate data driven pages Working on a project from requirements through development, testing and delivery Required Education, Skills, and Experience: Sophomore, Junior or Senior student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related field Basic understanding of HTML and CSS Desire to develop large scale web applications Experience working with relational data (we use Microsoft SQL Server) Must be quality oriented and capable of making deadlines Physical Demands and Expectations: Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required. Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance. Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
