The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills and experience providing a variety of transportation services. This position starts at a salary of $27.33 (WL-08). EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will lead 3 or more employees on various custodial duties and motor vehicle operation tasks.

Typical assignments include:
Identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks in accordance with established workflow, skill level, and/or occupational specialization;Estimating and reporting to the team on progress in meeting established milestones an deadlines;Preparing reports and maintaining records of work accomplishments and administrative information;Scheduling supply route selections and making appropriate vehicle assignments to provide a variety of transportation services;Operating straight-in-line trucks which have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds; Coupling and uncoupling truck tractor and semi-trailer or truck and trailer; connecting and disconnecting the air brakes and electrical lines.
