In this position, the incumbent performs work involving the coordination and implementation of logistical actions in support of disaster response and recovery programs. This position starts at a salary of $66,110 (IC-11) or $79,239 (IC-12).

EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

This position is being announced under FEMA's Cadre of On-call Response/Recovery Employee (CORE) Program. This is a temporary appointment in the Excepted Service, not to exceed 2 years, with the option to extend based on workload and funding availability. Veterans Preference does not apply to the CORE selection process.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will provide logistical support to disaster response and recovery operations. Typical assignments include:
Planning, executing, and managing large-scale logistics support in adverse environmental settings.Applying a range of logistics management knowledge including procurement, transportation, distribution and inventory management to plan and manage complex incident responses.Identifying the specific requirements for finances, personnel, material, facilities, and services needed to support programs.Analyzing processes and/or problems relative to the design and implementation of logistics management, transportation and distribution plans and procedures.

To qualify for this position at the IC-12 (starting salary $79,239) level, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the IC-11 level in federal service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of the following specialized experience:
