Job Description:


The Prepositioning and Marine Corps Logistics Services (P&MCLS) program is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy.

We are seeking to fill a Database Administrator position for our Jacksonville, Florida location.

Designs, develops and implements database applications to accommodate a variety of user needs. Analyzes and determines informational needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, proposed manipulation, data flow and storage requirements and data output and reporting capabilities. Defines logical attributes and inter-relationships and designs data structures to accommodate database production, storage, maintenance and accessibility. Tests designed applications utilizing database management software or general programming software. Installs, implements and supports database systems within the user base. Performs system level database maintenance. Controls, monitors, and ensures the integrity of the database is maintained. Performs a variety of activities associated with the applications software, database management, system testing and development activities of an operational system. Additional functions may include applications software installation, providing system configuration management, support database maintenance and control, troubleshooting problems and providing solutions, responding to customer, requests, assisting with basic documentation development and participating in routine system acceptance test activities. Analyzes operational requirements and ensures compliance, and responds to real-time changes, when required. Performs all other duties as assigned. Installs and upgrades the DBMS software and related tools, modifies various database structures, enrolls users, monitors the performance of the database, maintains archived data on tape, backs up and restores the database. Contacts DBMS technical support as needed. Resolves routine well-defined problems with some assistance and review. Limited input to project planning but may participate as a team member. Strives to improve processes and applies a broad knowledge of software principles and design into development, test, and operational configuration.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or other related field. 3 - 5 years experience Preferred. In lieu of formal education, a combination of college credits, education, and experience may be considered. Must be a U.S. Citizen and have, or be able to obtain, a Secret security clearance with an extended background investigation. Must have or be able to obtain within 6 months a Security Plus Certification with Continuing Education. Microsoft SharePoint experience is highly desired.
Additional Qualifications:

Ability to obtain and maintain Military Base Access

Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card
Ability to assist in the set-up and installation of operational software and database requirements. Basic knowledge of databases and familiarity with database languages. Basic knowledge of the underlying operating system. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team. Good trouble shooting and problem solving skills. Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position. Must have the ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and establish / maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers.
