Responsibilities
The Cyber Acquisition and Validation Department provides technical guidance and analyses for cybersecurity in the acquisition of military space systems. The ideal candidate will have a background in applying cybersecurity as a systems engineering discipline through development, sustainment and operations. Seeking candidates that have knowledge of the DoD systems acquisition process and will be responsible for helping define appropriate use of cybersecurity processes and practices from development through operations and disposal.

Key Functions:
Providing support to cybersecurity IPTs Helping to define system, cyber and resiliency requirements, architecture and processes Contributing to the development of products in support of milestone decisions and contract developments Identifying and working to mitigate risks to programs or across program boundaries Leading and/or coordinating support across program office and engineering organizations Providing support to projects involving large multi-organizational teams across the Space and Missile Systems Center, the program office, Air Force Space Command, Air Force Headquarters, Air Force operational units, and other DoD components and agencies as required Proposing, leading and/or implementing research tasks to demonstrate cybersecurity concepts and issues to program office customers

Qualifications
This position can be filled as a Systems Engineer - Cybersecurity or a Sr. System Engineer - Cybersecurity.

Required for Systems Engineer - Cybersecurity
12 or more years of experience in systems engineering and/or cybersecurity including developing and/or performing system architecture, requirements engineering, verification, test, and risk management across the acquisition life cycle Knowledge of DoD program acquisition instructions, processes, practices and documents related to systems engineering and/or cybersecurity Demonstrated initiative and ability to prioritize emergent issues to meet near- and long-term personal and team commitments Demonstrated ability to interact well and provide technical support in multi-program, multi-agency environments with government, engineering support and contractor personnel Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as well as the ability to speak authoritatively when appropriate and to support assertions with data and experience Ability to travel The selected candidate must have a SECRET clearance
Required for Sr. System Engineer - Cybersecurity
16 or more years of experience in systems engineering and/or cybersecurity including developing and/or performing system architecture, requirements engineering, verification, test, and risk management across the acquisition life cycle Knowledge of DoD program acquisition instructions, processes, practices and documents related to systems engineering and/or cybersecurity Demonstrated initiative and ability to prioritize emergent issues to meet near- and long-term personal and team commitments Demonstrated ability to interact well and provide technical support in multi-program, multi-agency environments with government, engineering support and contractor personnel Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as well as the ability to speak authoritatively when appropriate and to support assertions with data and experience Ability to travel The selected candidate must have a SECRET clearance
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent An advanced degree and/or cybersecurity certification Experience with program protection, network security, threat and vulnerability analysis, and/or cross domain solutions Experience in developing acquisition documentation supporting program decisions and milestones Active TS/SCI security clearance
