Responsibilities
Direct and provide leadership to the Control Systems Operations and Sustainment department within the Navigation Division. This department provides technical support to GPS operations and sustainment activities in Colorado managed by SMC/GPL. Overall responsibilities for this position includes planning, management, and technical leadership for the department. The selected candidate will help to ensure mission success of routine GPS Space and Control Segment operations, as well as anomaly resolution activities and end-of-life vehicle disposal operations. The Department also provides technical support to Launch and Early Orbit Operations activities for new GPS satellites and GPS Space and Control Segment sustainment activities. Overall leadership role will require a seamless teaming with the GPS Directorate and their customer the 50 th Space Wing, contractors, SE&I, and SETA personnel.

KEY FUNCTIONS
Management Responsibilities:
Responsible for management of Aerospace direct technical support to GPS Operations and Sustainment in Colorado Springs Keeping Aerospace management well informed on technical issues Responsible for technical and programmatic support to SMC/GPL pertaining to operations and sustainment related issues concerning GPS Enterprise Engage with Aerospace Engineering & Technology Group (ETG) in relevant disciplines to facilitate utilization of expertise as necessary Responsible for the quality and timeliness of Aerospace technical products, including formal recommendations, self-assessments, quarterly reports, and semi-annual accomplishment summaries Responsible for organizing and managing Aerospace operations support to OCX, OCS, and GPS III development and operations planning activities Maintain a diverse workforce by building a diverse pipeline, following an inclusive hiring process, and modeling inclusive leadership Develop, mentor and direct staff Evaluate staff performance, identify staffing needs, and develop organization as required Plan, budget, and manage department resource allocation Technical Responsibilities:
Responsible for direct operations-related technical support to GPS Directorate, including recommendations on operations-related decisions Responsible for technical support and evaluation of OCS sustainment hardware and software releases Lead Aerospace Operations and Sustainment Directorate technical support of OCX, COps/MCEU, and GPS III operations planning and transition activities

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline from a recognized institution At least 12 years overall experience in engineering or science disciplines General space operations experience (examples include: satellite operations, ground systems operations, or similar) Ability to work in a highly dynamic technical and management environment with multiple Government customers Current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance Occasional travel
Preferred
An advanced degree in an engineering or science discipline from a recognized institution GPS specific space operations experience, including vehicle bus and/or payload operations Detailed design knowledge of the GPS space vehicle families, both current and future, and the GPS Control Segment Detailed knowledge of GPS system design and operation Previous management experience Current TS/SCI clearance
