Position Specifics: This position supports the COMNAVAIRPAC INSURV Assist Team (IAT) onboard CVNs. The selected candidate must have experience with the following equipment:

• Portable DC Equipment (Ram Fans, PECU, ETC.)
• SCBA Pack, Air Booster Pump, HPFA Charging Stations, and EBACS
• Repair Lockers (Gear and AEL Inventory)
• CBR Equipment / Decontamination Stations
• DC Publications
• Closures (Watertight Doors, Scuttles, Hatches )
• AFFF / CMWD System
• Salt Water Sprinkling System
• List Control
• Halon / HFP
• CO2 Fixed Flooding and Hose Reel
• Main Drainage
• Firemain System
• Ballasting System

Work experience onboard a US Navy ship is required. Experience with shipboard WAF and tagout processes required. Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time. Must be able to obtain and maintain a confidential security clearance, a passport and a CAC or RAPIDGATE Badge for base access.

Experience participating in a CV or CVN INSURV inspection is an added plus.

Provides support to customers in general areas of engineering, supply, configuration management, technical requirements identification, installation and maintenance of equipment, safety, and documentation development and maintenance. Provides training and documentation support, including preparation of lesson content. Attends meetings or visits other facilities to discuss and recommend solutions to logistics issues. Conducts tests or experiments requiring selection, adaptation or modification of critical test equipment and test procedures; set up and operate equipment; record data; and measure and record problems of significant complexity. Serves as lead analyst. Adapts equipment or system to satisfy unique requirements. Conducts on-site installation of equipment and follow established testing procedures. Trains customer personnel. May provide supervision to staff and develops schedules and assigns work. Ensures maintenance contracts for services are fulfilled and appropriate documentation and records are kept.

Physical Requirements: Most work is performed aboard ships or in industrial conditions. Able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders. Able to work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required from time to time. Environment may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions. May require working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May involve riding ships at sea for extended periods. May require the ability to work while wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
