Job Title: Avionics Radar Test Set Technician Intermediate Level

TASK DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent will operate and maintain the AN/USM-446 Radar System Test Set (RSTS) and associated Operational Test Program Sets (OTPS) at the Intermediate Maintenance Activity in support of Kuwait Air Force (KAF) aircraft.

TASK REQUIREMENT:

1. Provide maintenance for the AN/USM-446 test station, including periodic maintenance, repair of station building blocks and station calibration.

2. Operate the AN/USM-446 RSTS and associated OTPS to test, troubleshoot and repair radar system Weapons Replaceable Assemblies (WRA) and Shop Replaceable Assemblies (SRA) to the component level.

3. Test, troubleshoot and repair all OTPS hardware to include interface boxes, power supplies, load banks, junction boxes, and cable assemblies utilizing Test Program Set (TPS) publications and instructions in conjunction with visual station indications.

4. Utilize digital flow charts, logic diagrams, printed circuit board schematics, wiring diagrams, and test flow charts, to test, troubleshoot and repair radar system WRAs and SRAs.

5. Perform miniature component repair and connector and wire repair including wire wrap techniques.

6. Support on-the-job training and cross training of KAF personnel.

Basic Qualifications
1. Minimum of four years electronics experience at the Intermediate Maintenance level.
2. Minimum of two years experience as an AN/USM-446 RSTS operator/maintainer, including TPS use and maintenance, and is a graduate of the AN/USM-446 RSTS operator/maintainer school.
3. Be able to differentiate between hardware or software discrepancies to include identifying software test areas.
4. A U.S. Secret security clearance is required.
