Title: Technical Writer

Objective: The ideal candidate will provide client support for program, policy, and application documentation. Experience with technical documentation, content development, interpreting architectural designs, recommending corrections, and providing follow-up are expected. Possess experience and understanding of MIS environments. Additionally, the candidate must understand the Software Development Lifecycle and the supporting software necessary in support configuration management.

Position Overview:
Location: Washington, DC
Hours: Monday-Friday, standard hours
Assignment: Temp to Perm - Conversion between 3-6 months
Clearance Requirement: Public Trust Clearance

Duties/Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret existing and new government-wide Financial Management and Information Technology policies and recommend implementation approaches to senior management officials. Review written materials that explain and interpret complex policies, programs, and functions for a major agency or organization. Reviews new material for factual accuracy, timeliness, completeness, responsiveness, and compliance. Ensures all related policies and documents are updated based on changes. Reviews written documents reports for appropriate references. Reviews document formatting. Ensures style, tone, margins, spacing, and page layout are appropriate and in-keeping established standards. Provides the editorial and graphics expertise in liaison work with printers, graphic designers, webmasters, typesetters, photo composers, binders, etc. Creates or edits graphics using standard desktop software when required. Creates Memorandums of Understanding, Standard Operating Procedures, and Service Level Agreements with federal agencies specific to the Asset Forfeiture Program's policies and procedures. Utilizes technical expertise to draft technical manuals, briefs, instructional material, guidebooks, supplement handbooks, and/or software and hardware documentation, and bulletins on Financial Management and Information Technology topics that pertain to the Asset Forfeiture Program. Obtains technical data from independent observation, review with technical staff members, and studies of published materials and existing documentation in order to create current and innovative marketing content in support of the asset forfeiture program's public facing web site. Interfaces with client and program team members to obtain background information of technologies, methods, and standards. Update application technical documentation, requirements analysis, specification documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical templates.
Mandatory Qualifications:
U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED Must pass a DOJ Minimal Background Investigation, MBI, Level 5 background investigation. Valid EQIP JPAS transfers acceptable Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related technical discipline. With a Master's Degree, one year of specialized experience. 5 years in editing Technical, Policy, and Program documents. Datrose is an equal opportunity employer.
