One of YRCI's clients, with offices in Washington, DC, is seeking a full-time Modeling and Simulation Specialist to provide onsite support.

The Role
Apply and evaluate modeling and simulation tools in joint strategic planning. This applies to development and execution of military strategy, "what if" analytical evaluation of proposed tactics and strategy, analysis of alternative courses of action, and the effects of technical developments on warfare, formulation of U.S. policy, roles of military forces, joint planning, and current issues in defense reorganization. Employ modeling and simulation in distributed simulation networks; apply empirical and analytical methods for determining the efficiency and performance of computer systems, modeling of processes, understand design issues of hardware/software compatibility, operating systems compatibility, information systems requirements, and their interoperability via networks. Conduct design of limited objective experiments and exploratory exercises, including selection of the most appropriate models for specific requirements. In so doing, apply probability, statistics, and exploratory data analysis as appropriate, to formulate and execute analyses involving uncertainty, including analyses of military operations. Must be able to analyze a variety of Department of Defense datasets to answer specific operational questions utilizing modeling, virtual environment, and simulation systems. Evaluates and recommends appropriate design of human-computer interfaces and autonomous agent technologies. Support of military training and exercises using distributed interactive simulation and networked environments. What You Need to Bring to the Table
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience ( equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree). Minimum Security Clearance Level: Secret Clearance Familiarity with different variations of M&S tools which include Human-in-the-loop, discrete event, system dynamic, and geospatial programs ( ie. ProModel, iThink, ArcGIS and Emergency and Disaster Management Simulation - EDMSIM).
Familiarity with M&S theory, techniques and best-practices. Critical thinking skills, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Ability to prepare a well-grounded, defensible argument. Understands the interrelationships between domain of expertise and other domains. Ability to work well with other organizations and personnel with disparate backgrounds. Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and with a team. Experience in MS Office software, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint required; experience in MS Project, MS Visio and MS Access, desired; Knowledgeable of and able to speak authoritatively on all aspects of that mission area including planning, operations, missions systems, advocacy, and processes related to that mission area. Possess at least one ( or more) of the following: Extensive experience ( >5 years) in M&S operations. Experience ( >5 years) in requirements analysis. Experience ( >5 years) supporting military training and exercises or equivalent experience using distributed interactive simulations. Domain knowledge ( >3 years) of one or more military missions, preferably via hands-on experience in conducting or supporting actual operations.
