Connecting Employers With Military Veterans!

MISSION STATEMENT
The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is a non-profit organization with National Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. It is operated exclusively for purposes beneficial to the interests of the nation and its Uniformed Services personnel, their family members, and survivors. While fully subscribing to the underlying values contained therein, MOAA is formed to:
• To inculcate and stimulate love of country and the flag;
• To support the honor and integrity of our country and advocate for a strong national defense;
• To advocate military forces adequate to the defense of our country;
• To foster the integrity and prestige of uniformed service;
• To foster fraternal relations between all branches of the various Services from which our members are drawn;
• To further the education of children of Service personnel;
• To aid personnel of the Services from which our members are drawn, and their family members and survivors, in every proper and legitimate manner, and
• To represent their rights and interests when Service matters are under consideration.

CHAPTER ACTIVITIES
Our Miramar Chapter contributes to MOAA successes in a meaningful way. Each spring, we personally contact our Congressional Representatives to tell them our priorities, remind them of our membership numbers, and assure them we vote and influence the votes of relatives, neighbors and friends. We invite them to speak at our meetings. We ask for their co-sponsorship of bills of interest to our membership. In each and every instance, we have had success. Our Representatives are strong proponents of our issues.

Those successes alone should justify your membership in our local chapter, but we do so much more in our local community:
• We organize and maintain a San Diego County/State wide “Job Network” to help find employment for veterans.
• We support and present annual awards and scholarships to distinguished JROTC cadets attending San Diego area high schools.
• We are major players in the creation and maintenance of a Veteran’s Park in Poway CA.
• We are active participants in other veteran activities across San Diego County such as the Wounded Warrior and homeless veterans.
• We host bi-monthly meetings on the “First Thursday” of February, April, June, August, October and December, where you can meet with like minded officers, former officers, spouses, and widows and hear speakers discuss subjects of interest to all of us.
