SAIC has an opening for a Database Administrator (DBA) to provide support to our clients at Fort Gordon, Georgia. NOTE: Some relocation assistance may be provided. **This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance.** The selected candidate will be responsible for performing complex database administration and development assignments essential to the production and development of database systems and applications. Assignments, which are in direct support of software development and maintenance teams, include database analysis, database modeling, database information assurance and security, database installation, database configuration, and database performance monitoring and tuning. Review and ensure database integrity using standardized support tools. Ensure assignments are performed in accordance with database administration guidelines, standards and procedures for application development, implementation, testing, and migration. Respond to and resolve complex reported systems problems and issues. Evaluate and recommend use of software, guidelines, and procedures to meet established objectives. Provide database expertise to other groups as requested. Work on extremely complex problems. Regularly interact with senior management on matters concerning functional areas, and customers PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The candidate will be involved in all aspects of the Database structural development process including DB design, OO interface development, testing, maintenance and user support. Candidate will be part of a technical team that currently provides development and integration support to the Intelligence Community customers. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical disciplines and 9+ years experience. Relevant certifications and 5 years of experience may be used to substitute for college degree. We require a highly competent individual with proven Oracle 10g/11g database development expertise in support of web-based technologies in Unix environments. * Must possess complex problem solving skills, management skills, proven database and applications development skills and experience designing and developing relational databases from written requirements; * Possess the ability to write and perform complex SQL queries that retrieve information from very large, relational database management systems; * Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and JDBC; * Must be able to write complex stored procedures and triggers; * Experience with deploying database service packs and critical updates; * Experience designing, planning, deploying, and troubleshooting databases in a highly scalable, highly redundant environment; * Experience with partitioning and tuning database parameters, and working with enterprise-level database environments; * Experience with Virtual Private Database and Row-Level Security API’s is essential. In addition, the candidate should have a working knowledge of the Oracle Text and Spatial options, and Advanced Security features to include Enterprise User creation and administration and must be comfortable working in both a Windows and UNIX environment. Applicant must have experience supporting all phases of the software development life cycle. Candidate must be a self-starter and have the flexibility to provide varying levels of support to the project. Must work well with minimal oversight and be able to manage tasks and requirements in a fast paced development team environment and has strong organizational, project management and communications skills. Position requires very good written and oral communication skills – a detail- and process-oriented individual a must. ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Hands on experience with DCGS-A Fusion Brain * Knowledge of current Intelligence Community and DoDIIS information technology and security standards and practices. * Moderate/Advanced database replication experience.
