FDNJ Expeditionary Center_Operations Group (OPSGRP) Support


 


Duties/Responsibilities:


· Provides technical direction and expertise in a variety of specialized areas including agile combat support operations in contingency operations, exercise planning, scenario development, exercise evaluation,  develop exercise message traffic, and scenario briefings.


· Fully understands all customer requirements and recommend solutions for each specific requirement. 


· Author/edit scenarios for exercise which provides opportunities for participating units to achieve established training objectives Develop detailed message traffic from higher/adjacent/subordinate headquarters, or other agencies and participating or affected governments within the area of interest that will ensure a realistic, challenging and dynamic exercise


· Develop required graphics needed for plans/scenarios/briefings


· Design high quality scenario maps/overlays using Geographical Information Systems (GIS), work with graphical designs and other visual reproductions for distribution to participating organizations and supporting briefings


· Review appropriate Concept of Operations (CONOPS), or Concept Plans (CONPLAN), Operation Plans (OPLAN) and other appropriate directives to determine training objectives and realistic scenarios


· Establish/coordinate exercise training objectives


· Solicit tactics, techniques and procedures from USAF EC experts and incorporate into scenarios and training aids


· Prepare/assist with preparation of briefing materials, in MS PowerPoint format


· Conduct periodic review and revise scenarios and training aids based on training needs as directed


· Provide crisis action planning support during execution of and design of exercises


· Ensure scenarios can be completed within available sites (knowledge of  land use planning and DoD force protection guides)


· Experience with Air Force training issues/practices


· Identify problems; determine accuracy and relevance of information; use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations


 


Education and Experience Requirements:


Minimum Experience


Three (3) years of experience in planning/programming/execution of military field exercises.


   


Education


Associates degree, or equivalent experience


   


Preferred Experience


Retired/Former Combat Arms Officer or Senior NCO


CGSC or Battle Staff graduate


Previous assignment in a G/J3 Plans or G/J3 Exercise division; Combat Training Center Plans/Exercise maneuver Control cell; Ranger Training Brigade or 1st Bn, 1st SWTC S3
