Summary:
The candidate is responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining Unix/Windows workstations and servers, including Web servers, in support of business processing requirements. Performs software installations and upgrades to Unix/Windows operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum level of performance.

Position supports the Operations and Sustainment (O&S) of the NIES architecture under the ITIS program. The candidate will be required to work on NIES segments, associated systems, and other Government Client assets under the ITIS program located at the site to include ENCORE and RRS.

Candidate must have ability to work shift work and respond to after hour calls.

1. Perform basic day-to-day system administration tasks, installation of new customer software releases, system upgrades, evaluation and installation of patches and resolution of software related problems associated with COTS/GOTS products on Sun UNIX, SGI IRIX and Windows 2000 / XP platforms.
2. Provides general trouble-shooting on the customer workstations, creates user accounts, maintains data files, and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
3. Perform hardware maintenance and repairs with vendors.
4. Participates in hardware/software testing as required, interfaces with development/integration facility during discrepancy reporting process and assists in site CM.
5. Performs system backups and recovery, provides general trouble-shooting on the customer system, maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
6. Participates in analyzing new hardware/software needs and participates in customer TEMs, reviews and meetings pertaining to customer issues.
7. Candidate must understand NIS+, NFS, Windows Active Directory as well as monitoring all system processes, ability to script in Unix/Windows and modify scripts as necessary for automation and configuration management.
8. Excellent customer relations skills are a must.
9. Candidate must have ability to work shift work and respond to after hour calls.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of network administration and possess network configuration management skills.
• Be familiar with our Government Client's processes and procedures and have knowledge of our Government Client's production systems.   


Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• Candidate must have UNIX and Windows system administration training with a minimum of five years experience in a related technical field.

Computer Skills:
• Microsoft Office
• NIS+, NFS, Windows Active Directory as well as monitoring all system processes, ability to script in Unix/Windows.
• Prefer skills in one or more of the following: IRIX, Informix, SQL, and Imagery Production Chain.
• Prefer the candidate have some experience in the imagery intelligence domain.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
