Summary:
 
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for operations and maintenance support to a government program located in Bahrain. The Systems Administrator will be providing systems administration, maintenance, and customer support to the customer’s Windows and UNIX based desktop computers, as well as, supporting the imagery workstations and buffer services used to support exploitation of imagery. The Systems Administrator will assist Government users and other on-site Administrators in system problem diagnosis and troubleshooting, collection of problem information, writing discrepancy reports (DRs), and recommending fixes. The Systems Administrator will also support external interface troubleshooting, develop workarounds to user problems, conduct training of Government users, coordinate with third party maintenance providers, and other operational support activities including software installations and upgrades.

1. Responsible for providing preventative maintenance on the FBG-GIL system
2. Managing workstation, server, storage and transport baselines
3. Interface point of contact for the site user community
4. Interface with site Help Desk and trouble reporting system
5. Perform backups and restores
6. Skilled in the operation and repair of the following products: MS Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Netscape, and Internet Explorer
7. Monitor database backup job and review database logs
8. General care of user workstations & other hardware, i.e., clean monitors, adjust stereo Z-screens, vacuum drives, and other related tasks
9. Providing security administration and initial analysis on new system requirements
10. Assist FBG-RRS staff in troubleshooting and resolving FBG-RRS Bahrain system problems
11. Assist Regional staff as needed; providing basic technical support for forward deployed customer systems such as NIES and IEC.
12. Assist the Customer NST Lead with initial technical analysis of site requirements and maintain relationships with external customer technical staff as a locally based technical representative
13. Ability to communicate with the customers and contractors.
Have familiarity with the Government Customer’s processes and procedures and have knowledge of their production systems.
14. Must be familiar with government customer’s organizational structure.
15. Possess technical experience in order to effectively speak to technical and design issues where required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Have a valid U.S. Passport


Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 5+ years of related experience.
• Candidate should have four plus (4+) years of technical experience in a Windows/UNIX system administration or operational support role. Must have experience of routing technologies, preferably OSPF.
• Candidate should have some experience in the imagery intelligence domain. Skills in one or more of the following: Solaris, SQL, VERITAS, Windows 2000 or XP, ERDAS, ESRI.
• Candidate should have knowledge of IT concepts such as TCP/IP, ATM, GIG-E and LAN/WAN networking.

Computer Skills:
• Microsoft Office
• UNIX
• Solaris, SQL, VERITAS, Windows 2000 or XP, ERDAS, ESRI is desired.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
• TS/SCI
• Security + certification
