Summary

The CAT Instructor / SME will conduct academic and training device instruction, provide course syllabi, training plans and event lesson plans at the CRC Formal Training Unit (FTU), 607ACS, Luke AFB, AZ.  Responsible for revision and development of student training lesson plans and associated instructor documentation when notified of syllabus, procedural or equipment procedures changes.  Monitor computer-based instruction periods and be available to answer student questions should the need arise.  Perform surveillance platform and positional instruction using lesson plans to accomplish required lesson tasks.

1. Prepare classroom for instruction.
2. Issue lesson-related student materials.
3. Perform academic instruction as required by the applicable syllabi and/or training plans.
4. Monitor self-paced and computer-based instruction providing academic instruction as required. 
5. Ensure students properly use equipment. 
6. Report equipment problems IAW LOP (Local Operating Procedures).
7. Provide remedial student training in accordance with the appropriate syllabus or training plan.  Remediation shall be scheduled IAW LOP.  Remedial training shall be scheduled to allow continued normal progression in the syllabus or training plan.
8. Review lesson objective with students to preparing for examination.
9. Administer, score, and debrief student examinations IAW established policy. 
10. Review and respond to the training quality assurance personnel (TQAP) and courseware quality assurance personnel (CWQAP) issues surfaced during end-of-block, end-of-course critiques, and Graduate Evaluations.  Coordinate all student comments critiques and courseware corrections, to include errata sheets, with the Government prior to use in the classroom.
11. When required, perform as Subject Matter Experts (SME) at the course evaluation board (e.g., courseware adviser). 
12. Manage academic programs (e.g., configuration control) to comply with Air Force Instructions (AFIs), handbooks, etc.
13. Develop and maintain instructor continuity folders and student grade books, as required.
14. Operate academic equipment (e.g.: projectors, televisions, computers, CBT, Smart-board, etc.). 
15. Maintain academic courseware reference material (e.g.: T.O., reference notes, publications, etc). 
16. In support of academic and training device events, instruct Weapons Director service and radio calls in accordance with current edition of the Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR), Handbook 7110.65, AFI 11-214, and local directives.
17. Review each student's grade book prior to brief of training device instruction.
18. Conduct briefings covering required items before and after training device events, in accordance with the approved pre-briefing and de-briefing guides.  This includes use of software tools provided through Briefing Room Interactive (BRI) program as appropriate.
19. Accomplish 100% of the specified event tasks during the training device period, unless student progress or maintenance problems will not allow completion.  Non-effective training device events shall be rescheduled. 
20. Instruct students in techniques and corrective actions to help students avoid repetition of errors.
21. Record student performance on individual event grade sheets in accordance with current directives and courseware control documents.
22. Provide Air Force and maintenance personnel with event data required to build training device events into software formats.
23. Assist in the development and production of an academic training schedule for academic sessions, lessons, and training device events.  The training schedule shall be delivered IAW LOP. 
24. Use the LMS for all lessons, quizzes and tests.
25. Conduct instructor upgrade training and conduct instructor certification evaluations.
26. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
• Associates degree required or must be obtained within twelve months of hire date. 
• Minimum of three years instructor/education experience within TACS required.
• Minimum three years experience as an MCE operator required. 
• Must have attended a recognized instructor school or must hold an education degree or teaching credentials targeted toward platform instruction.
• Two years experience with AN/TYQ-23 (V2 or V3) operations required. 
• Experience as ICT, EPT is desirable.

Computer Skills
• Must be profiient with use of current MS Office and Windows OS IAW ACC standard configuration. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
• Secret clearance required.
