Summary
Electronics Technician III will troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical and electronic devices, systems and components. Usually works within established procedures, performing a wide variety of nonstandard complex tasks in the electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, video, CC TV, Laser, RF/Microwave communications, Radar, or optical areas. Evaluate and resolve equipment and system problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position

1. Troubleshoot and repair to component level: CC TV systems and components, Infrared systems, Radio Frequency systems and components, including Microwave transmission systems and ground proximity sensors, Night Vision Goggles, Fiber Optic and RF cable systems, Infra Red and Visible light cameras, including optics, and Video over IP systems. 
2. Troubleshoot and repair digital and analog devices.
3. Solder skills parts as needed.
4. Recommend process improvements or procedure modifications.
5. Determine types of tests to be performed.
6. Be able to climb poles and Antenna towers up to 120 feet.  Prior climbing certification a plus.
7. Suggest modifications to testing equipment.
8. Initiate and prepare written equipment status reports.
9. Communicate effectively with other technical personnel.
10. Ability to work as team member.
11. Adhere to Safety and Security processes and procedures.
12. Other duties as assigned

Supervision
No supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s Degree or Electronics Technology Certificate.  Minimum of 2 years experience in RF, Radar and Microwave receiver and transmitter circuits, performing repair and troubleshooting to module and component level. Familiar and experienced with using a variety of RF test equipment, such as RF generators, Spectrum Analyzers, RF power meters, antennas and wave-guides, impedance matching. Minimum 3 years experience in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.  Combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must have proven meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills, good organizational skills and ability to self-direct and prioritize in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Thermal Imagery expertise a plus.  

Computer Skills
Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Excel and Windows Server.  Familiar with CMMS, such as iMaint and/or Maximum knowledge a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
Must be able to successfully complete and maintain the requirements of a Treasury Background Investigation.  Valid driver's license and First Class FCC license with  Radar Endorsement required.

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.  Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
