Summary

Provide electronic and physical security support of ET Equipment supporting US Customs and Border Protection and Office of Border Patrol.  Reports to the Senior Engineer Manager and liaisons with the Border Security Operations Manager to evaluate mobile and fixed electronic security system designs, configurations for weaknesses, and recommend design improvements.

1. Demonstrate a strong, contemporary knowledge of electronic security system technology, security integration methods, and electronic security system installation. 
2. Provide expertise on the myriad of factors that influence project cost, schedule, performance, and risks.
3. Assists in security system design and develops system functional and performance requirements.
4. Requires subject matter expertise and hands-on experience in one or more security discipline and experience establishing and implementing complex government security programs and policies.
5. Assist in determining project scope, writing solicitation documentation, contracting electronic security vendors, and inspecting and verifying vendor deliverables against awarded contracts. 
6. Shall possess in-depth knowledge of CCTV, video surveillance detection, instruction detection equipment, screening, identification, data processing, and display equipment.
7. Perform site surveys and develop solutions, which satisfy electronic and physical security systems requirements for both fixed and mobile applications.
8. Lead analysis of reported failures of electronic components and control; evaluate and propose recommendations for design, component, preventive and corrective maintenance changes.
9. Design and integrate multiple electronic security technologies into single end user platform.
10. Conduct reliability analyses of electronic and control systems and their major components.
11. Assist with the development of remote systems monitoring and diagnostics systems.
12. Investigate and report pattern incidents.
13. Other responsibilities include develop procedures for evaluating component subassemblies, attend site surveys, generate change proposals related to component subassemblies, provide prototype assembly, debugging assistance, effectively monitor and control performance of vendors. 
14. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree in electrical/electronics engineering, systems engineering or related field and a minimum of 6 years experience of electronic security components with regard to systems integration of CCTV, intrusion detection and perimeter detection required.  Exceptional level of work experience may be substituted for degree.  Also required:  experience managing large scale electronic security system projects and engineering complex systems, experience in design of system layouts and enclosures, ability to develop electronic systems, electrical diagrams/schematics and block diagrams, ability to read and interpret design specification and technical drawings, and ability to develop and evaluate RFP documentation of subcontractor bid proposals.

Computer Skills
• Must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office applications
• Microsoft Word and Excel at intermediate level.
• Knowledge of CCTV protocols for both fixed and mobile application.
• Knowledge of data and video wireless components
• Knowledge of National Electric Code familiarity
• Knowledge of CCTV video compression

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain the requirements of a Treasury Background Investigation (Treasury BI).
