Summary

Under general direction, manages the installation, operation, maintenance, and support of enterprise IP network communications monitoring services.

1. Responsible for evaluating current systems and utilizing enterprise management tools (e.g. Spectrum) to monitor enterprise network performance, analyze network activity and maintain a high level of network availability.
2. Performs network discovery and conduct fault analysis.
3. Works on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors.
4. Conducts real-time events management on critical network infrastructure and monitors critical services.
5. Plans large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
6. Lead and mentor/train to lower level engineers.
7. Requires expert knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks and network management applications.
8. Other duties as assigned

Supervision
May require some supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience
Some college coursework plus a minimum of 5 years experience required. Technical college degree and management experience preferred.

Computer Skills
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
• Secret clearance.
• Security + certification
• Spectrum Certified Engineer (SCE)
• ITIL “Fundamentals” (Foundations)
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) preferred.
