Description:Background information: The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) is an independent combat support agency within the Department of Defense. Quality Assurance Specialists at DCMA are responsible for assuring contract technical performance and the inspection, testing, and acceptance of products, supplies, and services being produced by the nation’s defense contractors. They also conduct risk assessments and develop risk plans to mitigate the risks to successful program performance and execution. Description of The work includes: * Developing and implementing risk management plans. * Determining product quality deficiencies and recommending corrective actions. * Providing proactive quality assurance support to program integrators, program support teams, and contracting officers. * Assisting in the assessment and application of commercial standards and specifications. * Leading or participating in quality program assessment reviews. * Reviewing contracts and associated technical data packages to clarify and interpret quality assurance requirements and provisions. * Conducting assessments of quality assurance data to propose and implement revised testing, inspection, and acceptance methods. * Participating in developing goals and plans affecting DCMA internal processes. The work locations vary depending on the type of contract and assignment. Some Quality Assurance Specialists work primarily at a single contractor site—for example, conducting surveillance alongside contractor personnel on the production floor at a manufacturing facility. Some Quality Assurance Specialists work primarily in one office but travel to various contractor sites. Most DCMA Quality Assurance Specialists spend at least some time in travel. Quality Assurance Specialists may be assigned to various locations throughout the Quality Assurance Specialists work in teams, so that experienced personnel are available to help newcomers with information and advice. In some cases the members of a team may work in different locations. Required Experience: One year and above directly related such as experience in quality assurance concepts, principles and methods in mechanical concepts and technology, equipment, machinery and instruments, manufacturing and production methods and in performing statistical and quality data analysis and evaluation to determine supplier compliance with contractual requirements. Required Education: Baccalaureate degree preferred but not mandatory along with specific course work in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.
