Job Title:  Oracle Database Engineer

<P>Serves as a member of the Integration and Development (I&D) Database Engineering Team. The DBE team is responsible for the installation, configuration and administration of Oracle Databases for the Integration and Development LAN.&nbsp; The DBE provides technical expertise in data models, Entity Relational Diagrams and database performance tuning for the Application Development Team.&nbsp; Defines and implements best practices within the environment providing on-demand database support to Operations and Sustainment as Tier-3 support engineer.&nbsp; Has DB reverse engineering experience to migrate legacy DBs, MS Access for example, to ORACLE platforms.&nbsp; </P> <P>The Oracle Database Engineer will provide technical expertise in implementation and development support of Oracle 10g and 11g databases within a Solaris 10 environment.&nbsp; The candidate will assist with the migration of the current Production Enterprise Oracle environment from the current Solaris 9/Oracle 10g to Solaris 10/Oracle 11g RAC.&nbsp; As a member of the Database Engineering Team, the candidate will define standards and processes to support the Enterprise Oracle environment.&nbsp; Work within a team environment to implement customized solutions to support customer requirements.&nbsp; Support the Oracle development and test environments.&nbsp; Plan and complete patches to the Oracle software.&nbsp; Complete scheduled and unscheduled outages as required to support the integration and development environment.&nbsp; Conduct data conversion and migration of data on a project basis.&nbsp; May be required to complete architecture documents, submit supporting documents for SSAA accreditation, define hardware, software and storage requirements, and provide input in schedules and project plans.&nbsp; </P> <P><br>REQUIREMENTS:</P> <P>A current high level government security clearance<br>Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or related discipline) with 5 years experience in software development, or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or related discipline) with 7 years experience in software development.</P> <P><br>•&nbsp;5+ years experience supporting Oracle Databases<br>•&nbsp;Experience with Oracle 10g/11g <br>•&nbsp;Oracle 10g/11g RAC implementation and administration <br>•&nbsp;Oracle ASM implementation and administration<br>•&nbsp;Oracle Data Guard implementation and maintenance<br>•&nbsp;Oracle RMAN experience<br>•&nbsp;Performance tuning in an Oracle 10g environment.<br>•&nbsp;Solaris 9/10 experience<br>•&nbsp;A basic understanding of web services (SOAP, WSDL’s) and XML schemas.<br>•&nbsp;Experience data modeling, data migration required<br>•&nbsp;Experience designing and implementing mid to very large databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.<br>•&nbsp;Strong communication skills to include documentation.<br>•&nbsp;Good understanding of full life cycle development.<br>Desirable Skillset: <br>•&nbsp;Experience migrating Oracle 10g databases to 11g<br>•&nbsp;Performance tuning in an Oracle 11g environment.<br>•&nbsp;Oracle Application Server experience<br>•&nbsp;MS SQL Server 2005/2008 experience<br>•&nbsp;Linux experience<br>•&nbsp;Experience working with NetApp SAN solutions<br>•&nbsp;Hands on software development experience</P> <P><br>Fulcrum IT is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
